Brooklyn gets ready for the holidays

The borough of Brooklyn will be the location of several holiday events this year. Two of the most popular offerings will provide both fun and the chance to finish holiday shopping.

Citi Field Winter Fest is being held this December; it will be hosted by the New York Mets and Metropolitan Hospitality. Several of the Mets players will be on hand to meet the fans as well. There will be arts and crafts activities, cookie decorating, and visits from mascots, as well as one from Santa. In addition, there will be food, eggnog, and beer to purchase. Guests will also be entertained by Christmas carol singers.

The next day, the Brooklyn Holiday Bazaar will give people a chance to finish off their holiday shopping. There are set to be more than 35 local vendors selling all variety of items. Guests can also enjoy free cocktails and gift wrapping services. Kids of five years old and above will be entertained by Curious Jane's workshop corner.

The organizers of both Brooklyn events may have invested in services such as banner printing to help make the venues more festive, with areas like Murray Hill likely to be among those targeted.

Citi Field Winter Fest will be held on December 13 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults or $7 for kids.

The Brooklyn Holiday Bazaars will take place at 501 Union on December 14 from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm. Admission is free.
