Brighton Beach residents will soon have another eatery to enjoy, and perhaps a chance to watch a reality TV show being filmed.
Noted actors Mark and Donnie Wahlberg, along with their brother Paul, have created a franchise chain known as Wahlburgers that is based in Boston. Recently, a local entrepreneur, John Cestare of Big Apple Burgers, succeeded in obtaining the franchise rights for seven locations in the New York City area.
The Brooklyn Wahlburgers is slated to open May 1 on the corner of Surf and Stillwell Avenues at the Thor Equities’ retail building, less than two miles from Brighton Beach. It will be the first of the seven New York City sites to open, with the other six to be in Manhattan.
The A&E reality TV show ‘Wahlburgers’, in its third season, will have an episode in which franchisee Cestare and the Coney Island restaurant will appear. According to entertainment blog Amusing the Zillion, both rooftop dining and seating on the ground floor of the building will be available.
A banner printing service could prove useful in letting the public know that Wahlburgers restaurants are coming and when each will open. The onsite Banners could also provide other dates of interest.
