New center to open for visitors to Brighton Beach area

Those taking a trip to Brighton Beach and the surrounding areas of Brooklyn, and who want to find out more about all the community has to offer, are invited to make the newly upgraded Borough Hall visitors center the first place at which they stop.

The new facility is located on the lowest floor of the heritage building. It now has iPads installed to draw attention to different areas of the city, as well as a variety of Made in Brooklyn items for sale. These include everything from chocolates to freshly made pickles. Having Brochures on hand at locations such as this can further help tourists to plan what they will do during their stay.

According to the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce’s president, Carlo Scissura, the goal is for the center to serve as a launching point that encourages visitors to find out for themselves what the area has to offer by and getting out exploring it.

He further noted that the chamber has covered the cost for the iPads and some of the other improvements as well. The rest of the bill is being paid for by the Department of Citywide Administrative Services.

According to the most currently available statistics, tourism is currently a thriving sector of the area’s economy, with 15 million people visiting it in 2014. It is hoped that the new center will meet the needs of the modern tourist. It is set to be open for business sometime in mid March.
