Candle making workshop planned for Brighton Beach

A Brighton Beach workshop will teach how to craft candles using modern techniques and materials.

The BWAC Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition has plans in the works for a candle making class, and it will teach this centuries-old craft using hands-on instructional methods. It will also serve as a fundraiser for the coalition, and wine and beer will be on sale for $5 a glass.

Learners will be taught how to use the fragrance wheel to choose the custom scent for their soy wax candle, and as they will also be guided through the dos and don’ts of the process, they will be able to prepare them at home. They will then craft their own creations, and in three hours, they will be set and ready to take home. Anyone who can’t wait will be able to make arrangements to have theirs shipped out to them, or can come back on another day to pick it up in person.

Preparing to host an instructional session like this often includes reaching out to area Stationery printers, as they will be able to supply printed instruction sheets and other materials to give to each registrant. This way, they will have tips and information sheets they can use at home.

Tickets for this activity, which will take place on April 25, are $45.00 each. It will be held at 481 Van Brunt Street.
