Brisk swim planned for Brighton Beach bathers

Brighton Beach swimmers who have been looking for a way to challenge themselves may find that a local event puts their aquatic skills to the test.

Coney Island Brighton Beach Open Water Swimmers wishes to alert the community that it has organized a special open water swim. Its Triple Dip event will give swimmers three options to choose from, and they can pick the one best suited to their own abilities.

The participants can choose from a one-, two- or three-mile swim, and the bathers will enter the water at the NY Aquarium. They will head towards Steeplechase Pier, and depending on which distance they wish to swim, they can turn around or continue on towards Grimaldo’s Chair. The organizers explained that the participants can choose to return to shore at any time, and there will be a warm welcome waiting for them.

The planners of this aquatic event noted that they wished to thank area lifeguards, swim angels, support boats, the NYPD Harbor Patrol and the many others who have chosen to support the activity. Finisher’s medals and other Corporate Gifts can be crafted for this type of sporting activity by area printers.

The swimmers in the Triple Dip will be taking to the brisk waters of the North Atlantic on July 18. All of the routes will begin at 6:00 am.
