Brighton Beach workshop to explore world of naturally sourced scent

Perfumes and other personal care products have been used for thousands of years as part of people's daily beauty regimens, and a Brighton Beach area class will focused of creating a variety of scented items using fragrances sourced from the natural world.

In today's world, many commercially available products use synthetic scents, and the organizers of the workshop explained that consumers have become used to these strong smells. The class will teach members of the public how they can make products that boast smells based in nature, and the items they make will not be alcohol based.

During the session, the group will learn how to pair fragrances from the same families together to create an overall smell they enjoy. They will also find out how to source the ingredients they use, and Perfumer Laurie Sanderson will provide the expertise for the occasion. Admission to the class is free, and there are spaces for up to 20 learners.

This event will be held in the Brooklyn Public Library located at 617 Dekalb Avenue, and hosting a continuing education offerings like this is often one of the roles a library can play in its community.
