Enjoying tomatoes fresh from the garden and still warm from the sun is one of the rewards of growing vegetables at home, and a Brighton Beach area workshop may make the process easier.
The UCC Youth Farm in Brooklyn will be giving the public an opportunity to learn the secrets of growing top tomatoes with ease. It is free to participate, and the function has been organized by East New York Farms.
The class will discuss various methods for cultivating a tomato crop, and they will learn about the different cultivars and their cultural needs. Techniques such as soil preparation and fertilizing, staking, trellising, pruning, and pest control will all be discussed, and the goal is for everyone to walk away feeling more confident in their horticultural talents. The attendees will also have a chance to meet other home horticulturalists.
Learning how to grow one’s own food can be a rewarding practice, and workshops offer an opportunity to get started. A brochure printing company will be happy to supply items such as gardening Journals and plant care sheets to distribute to the students in a class.
This introduction to the art and science of growing tomatoes will be on offer on June 29. The venue is located at 620 Schenck Avenue in Brooklyn, and seats in the session are expected to be snapped up quickly.
