Brighton Beach to explore world of botanical mocktails

The herb garden offers lots for the kitchen, and a Brighton Beach area workshop will show how an assortment of botanical ingredients can be transformed into tasty mocktails.

The non-alcoholic drinks that will be the focus of the onsite Herbal Mocktails class can be enjoyed by any age. The recipes taught will include both traditional and modern methods of preparing mixed drinks, and a materials charge of $10 will be charged along with the ticket price.

The group will learn how to combine various botanical components into drinks that taste good and have health benefits. Aromatics and bitters will be used in the recipes, and everyone will be invited to sample their creations before they head for home. They will also walk away with two cocktail elixirs so they can make them in their own home kitchen. The class will be led by Dawn Petter.

A mixology or other culinary class will be able to utilize the services of a brochure printing company to ensure it has Copies of the recipes used to distribute to the students, and also to craft small items like promotional Pens to hand out.

This hour-and-a-half-long introduction to the art and science of creating botanical-based mocktails will be on offer on March 24. Administration Building GH 1 at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden will be the venue for the evening.
