Working with flowers offers a taste of summer sun even in the heart of winter, and a Brighton Beach area class is set to help the community learn some of the basics of crafting floral displays.
Brooklyn Botanic Garden offers an oasis of green in the city, and its Winter Wonderland with Flowers workshop will see attendees work with an assortment of seasonal blooms and greenery. Everyone is asked to bring their own shears or small pair of secateurs, and the price to participate starts at $30.
The participants in the class will be working with live flowers and foliage, and these will be included in the registration fee. They will discover how they can keep their arrangement looking great for as long as possible, and incorporating dried materials will also be discussed. Everyone will walk away with a greater understanding of some of the fundamentals of floral design after the 90-minute session.
