Brighton Beach residents have been offered the opportunity to take advantage of what may be an important step in household security.
The Fight Fraud shred event will be on offer free of charge this month, and a shred truck will be parked at the venue throughout its scheduled run time or until the vehicle is full and cannot accept any more. It should only take a few minutes’ to do, and may be helpful in preventing identity thrift and other scams.
People with items to shred have been asked to remove any metal binder clips, and only paper items will be accepted. A limit of three Boxes per person has been set, and the containers will be returned once they have been emptied. The function will run for three hours, during which the truck will be parked at 1055 St. Johns Place. Advance registrations are being accepted.
Community shreds and other public service activities can garner a lot of attention from local residents. Signage can be a useful tool in keeping an outdoor activity organized and running smoothly, and this can be prepared for an event by a banner printing company.
The Fright Fraud shredding party will run from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 18 or until the truck is full. The host for the occasion will be AARP NY.
