Brighton Beach invited to get gardening

Spring is on the horizon, and a Brighton Beach area garden has planned a community activity to help kick off another planting season.

Queens Botanical Garden has asked locals to roll up their sleeves and prepare to get their hands dirty during its “March for the Earth'' volunteer day. Its organizers explained that it will be a good chance for those who are interested in its seasonal horticultural volunteer initiatives to learn more, and all older teens and adults are welcome.

The staff of the Garden will lead the helpers through an assortment of clean-up, planting, and other chores. Registration is required, and the attendees can count on having fun while they meet and connect with other community members who share their interest in urban horticulture. It is free to get involved, but limited to those who are at least 16 years of age.

When making plans to welcome the public for this sort of function, the organizers may wish to reach out to a local Print company well ahead of time. This festive opening to a new gardening season will be taking place on March 27. It will begin at 10:00 am, and the Garden can be found at 4350 Main Street in Flushing.
