Vikings will soon be setting sail for the Brighton Beach, but there is no need to worry as it is all in good fun.
Nordic culture will take pride of place during Viking Fest 2017. There will be lots to see and do, and the public is invited to come and view the replicas of Viking ships that will be on display. There will be an assortment of activities to try, and food will also be available for purchase.
In addition to this, there will be docents in period Nordic costume, along with storytellers regaling the crowd with tales from Scandinavia and other countries in the northern portion of Europe.
Those who come out will have an opportunity to learn more about life hundreds of years ago during this 17th year of the festival that celebrates the first Europeans to reach North America, and the role they have played in the history of the land. Banners and other themed decorations can be both custom designed and then printed for an event such as this by a local printing company.
Viking Fest 2017 has been planned for May 20 by the Scandinavian East Coast Museum. It will be held in Owl’s Head Park/Bliss Park, and everyone is welcome to come and experience a taste of true Viking culture. Additional details have been made available on the Brooklyn Paper website.
