Brighton Beach class to provide inside scoop on pruning

Brighton Beach residents who would like to learn the fundamentals of tree care will be able to do so when they participate in a locally hosted workshop.

Berry Street Garden will be offering an introduction to arboriculture, and the tips shared can be used during the winter months. Pruning is on the agenda, and the attendees will learn the when, where, how and whys of making those cuts.

During the two-hour class, the participants will be taught about the vascular system of plants and how this relates to pruning. Arborist Will Thompson will introduce the tools of the trade such as secateurs, pole pruners and hand saws. Reduction, thinning and heading cuts will all be discussed, and the attendees will find out how they can be used to create their desired tree shape, and also keep the plant healthy.

Tips for caring for trees when they are dormant during the winter months will be provided, and a demonstration will take place. An in-person workshop may also include an opportunity for the participants to gain some hands-on experience.

Stationery printers are often available to prepare waivers, Letterheads, and other business documents for a particular group or event.
