Brighton Beach class to teach secrets of baking bread

Brighton Beach residents who are interested in learning how to make their own home made bread by hand may wish to save the date for a class that will soon be taking place in the local area.

Head Baker Assane Diop, along with his team, will be the facilitators of a workshop that will teach the secrets of making a great loaf of bread. The students will learn how they can produce their own rustic style loaves, and the two hour long session will be taught using hands on teaching techniques that don’t involve a bread maker.

Each of the participants will craft their own loaf from scratch, including milling the wheat themselves on a home mill. As they work, they will have an opportunity to learn more about how wheat and other grains are grown and also the benefits of a good loaf of bread. The class will run for two hours, and only 15 spaces are available. Refreshments will be served to the students. A local Print company can be called upon to supply the organizers of this type of function with recipe Books and cards for the attendees so they can make their own baked goods at home.

This workshop is being hosted by the Brooklyn Bread Lab, and it is scheduled for January 23rd. More details about the function are available on the host’s website.
