John James Audubon was one of the nation's founding birders, and murals that celebrate the species he painted will be the focus of an activity coming to Brighton Beach birding enthusiasts.
The Brooklyn Bird Club is offering a virtual guided tour of the murals being painted in various local neighborhoods. The host of the activity noted that, in honor of Mr. Audubon, the goal of the project is to create murals depicting more than 300 birds found in North America, and the excursion will visit about 40 of them.
It was noted that the facilitator for the tour is licensed NYC tour guide, and she will be preparing a 50-minute long slide presentation of the murals, which will include a commentary. Anyone who has questions will be able to ask them afterwards, and the activity will take place using the Zoom platform.
It was explained that one of the goals of the murals is to raise awareness about the threats birds face from global warming and other dangers. A poster printing company can prepare a variety of materials to help promote this sort of activity to the public, which will help to maximize its impact.
The Brooklyn Bird Club will be presenting this virtual tour on April 6, 2021. It will begin at 7:00 pm, and more information about both the activity and the murals themselves can be found on the group’s website.
