Brighton Beach bathers to take the plunge

Brighton Beach swimmers who are looking for a challenge have one such activity on their doorstep next summer.

Du City Tri Runs, Inc. will be starting summer with a special activity that will see swimmers hit the water off Coney Island Beach. The registrants will meet up at Stillwell Venue and Boardwalk Brooklyn, and the participants will pass by several local landmarks during their swim.

To help make this activity suitable for a wide audience, the registrants can choose from either a half-mile or full-mile route. As they will be following the shoreline, anyone who needs to get out and take a break will easily be able to do so. Trained personnel and volunteers will be on hand to provide any assistance needed, and spectators are welcome to cheer the bathers on.
