Brighton Beach asked to help with stewardship project

A community service project will show some love to a Brighton Beach area location, with the help of volunteers.

Participants will be taking part in a large International Coastal Clean Up initiative, and they will be heading to Randall’s Island to undertake the work. The efforts will make the area safe for the birds, fish, and other animals that call it home.

The group will be collecting plastics, trash, and other marine debris from the shore. This will be photographed and documented, and this data will be added to the State of the Oceans Report. The team leaders will guide registrants on a tour of the site so that they will have a chance to learn how their efforts will make a difference.

Environmental stewardship projects give the public a hands-on chance to do a good turn for the world around them. A printer that crafts clothing with a custom graphic design can prepare T-Shirts and other gear for the leader of an activity to wear during an event so that they will be easy for the volunteers to spot.
