Brighton Beach area run to showcase local urban art

The runners in a Brighton Beach area activity will be toasty warm this winter thanks to the ugly sweaters they will be wearing.

The registration system for the annual Ugly Sweater Holiday 5K Art Run will soon be open, and it is being hosted by Brooklyn’s UrbanGlass. One of the unique features of the event is that it will showcase murals and other art installations in the community, and all running levels are welcome.

The activity will open with a bag drop at UrbanGlass, and then everyone will hit the pavement. The goal is to go along at a 10-minute-per-mile pace, and there will be lots of stops for photos along the way with a professional photographer on hand to get candid shots. A docent will guide the run, pointing out items of interest, and holiday treats will be served. At the end of the run, the participants can linger and do some shopping as they mingle with the other participants.

Organizing a fun run may involve ordering race bibs, decor for the start and finish line, and also medals for finishers and top runners. These will all be available at local printers that prepare Corporate Gifts.

The 2022 Ugly Sweater Holiday 5K Art Run will hit the road on December 12. Everyone is encouraged to help make it a great day for all.
