Brighton Beach area engages in environmental advocacy

A Brighton Beach area green space is about to get some care thanks to the efforts of a group of volunteers, and all help will be appreciated.

Brooklyn’s Canarsie Park will be welcoming those willing to lend a helping hand for an activity organized by NOAA and NYC H2O. The park is not just a popular spot for recreation, but also supports a wide variety of plants and animals.

The two-hour session will remove litter and other debris from the beach and trails, and garbage Bags, gloves, and trash pickers will be supplied. Sunscreen and bottled water are highly recommended.

While they work, participants can learn more about the venue and the diverse range ecosystems that can be found there, as well as its wetland hiking trails. The event is part of NYC H2O’s schedule of environmental stewardship activities.
