Brighton Beach residents who have been looking for an environmental project to get involved with may want to sign up now for an initiative that will give the area around Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club a good spring clean.
The group is looking for some willing hands to undertake the project, and the materials needed to complete the task will be supplied. The organization has partnered with Trash Hero this year, and it is hoping that this will result in an even bigger positive environmental impact.
The volunteers will clean the dock and boat house, as well as equipment, and the shoreline will also be included in the spruce up. Trash Hero will help to remove large items and debris from the shore, and there are even rumours that the students at NYU Tandon School of Engineering will stop by with their motorized robot to help clean trash from the water.
