Advanced soap-making techniques to be showcased in Brighton Beach area

The art of cold process soap making has been used for many years, and during a workshop facilitated by Brighton Beach area Remedies Herb Shop, participants will have a chance to learn how to craft soaps that are as pretty as they are practical.

The class is intended for people who either have previous experience in cold process soap making or who have already taken the shop’s ‘Introduction to Soap Making’ class. The attendees will learn how to choose which colors and oils to use, what coloring techniques are best for different situations and effects, and how to handle the ingredients safely. They will also be given advice and tips for how to finish, wrap, and label their finished products.

At the end of the class, each student will walk away with nearly 2lb of soap and also a set of handouts that contains more information that they can use the next time they engage in soap-making, along with a list of sources for materials and other supplies. A booklet printing company can be called upon to supply such instructional materials.

The Intermediate Soap Making Workshop – Colors and Swirls has been planned for February 11 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at 132 4th Pl in Brooklyn. Tickets have been priced at $110.00 each, and they can be purchased through the Remedies Herb Shop's website.
