The University of Nevada’s Agricultural Cooperative extension program provides the public with research-based learning, and one of its events will be offered to Henderson residents this September.
During this public workshop, the attendees will learn how they can create thriving gardens even if they lack the space to do so. Many of the plants introduced will be native species, and they will all be adapted to local climates, soils, and other growing conditions.
The group will discuss how these plants have become adapted to survive in desert conditions, and it will go well beyond just cacti. They will learn how to choose suitable species for a particular location, and will also discover how to use microclimates to grow cultivars they might not otherwise be able to include in their plantings. Everyone can ask questions.
Pre-registration is mandatory to participate and tickets for this in-person event are on offer for $10 each. Supplying each attendee in a learning activity like this with a notebook and promotional Pens will make it a snap for them to take any notes they wish.
This chance to learn how to make the most from plants that have adapted to local conditions will be welcoming learners on September 18. The activity will be hosted at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension offices, which can be found at 8050 Paradise Road in Las Vegas.
