Back to school event just around the corner in Henderson

Children will be going back to school soon, and the Back to School Bash in Henderson is meant to make that transition more fun.

This year, the Heritage Park Senior Facility will host children ages between five to 16 for the event. The bash starts with a range of fun, carnival-style games that let children test their skills. When the fun of the carnival games is over, participants can move on to bounce houses that help them let off some of their energy and get in some exercise. There will also be plenty of dancing for those who prefer to move to the music rather than bounce to it.

Craft stations will be available as well, allowing children to make a variety of pieces that let them express their creativity.

The Back to School Bash is about more than fun and games, though. It also provides community support. In addition to all the activities, children will receive dinner while they attend the bash. Finally, each guest will get to take home a new backpack that is filled with many of the essential supplies they will need to start the new school year off right. Events like this may offer items like promotional Pens as giveaways.

Heritage Park Senior Facility, located at 305 S. Racetrack Road in Henderson, will take place from 4-5:30 p.m. on August 1. Students aged 10-16 can enjoy the event from 6-7:30 p.m. Advance registration is required and closes on July 25. Sign-up is available on the City of Henderson website.
