According to the City of Henderson, only one in every 20 people choose to donate blood, and it is hoping that an event planned for the city will see this number increase.
The Black Mountain Recreation Center will be the location for a blood donation drive, and the planners remarked that making a contribution is both simple and safe. They went on to explain that choosing to make a gift can make a difference for many, and may even save a life.
Blood donors must be at least 17 years old and be in good health. They also have to weigh 110lb or more and not be taking antibiotics. There are other criteria that need to be met, and anyone who is interested can register ahead of time.
United Blood Services is the organizer of this event, and those who choose to participate may qualify for its ‘Hero in Me’ donor rewards program. A local brochure printing company will be able to supply a variety of materials that market an event like this to the local area, which can help to ensure that it is a success.
