A Nevada organization has put out a call to Henderson residents to assist a program that can show military members they have the support of those back on the home front.
The USO and Veterans Expo have teamed up to create “Operation Care Package” that will bring cheer to deployed military personnel. The USO will make sure they get to soldiers, marines, sailors, air force and coast guard personnel who will be away during the holidays, and everyone can lend a hand.
The organizers have created a list of supplies that they need. These will be packed into care Boxes to be sent overseas, and batteries, a variety of toiletries, snacks, and other items are on the list. These can be dropped off at the collection stations that will be set up at the Veterans Expo, which is slated to be held in the Galleria mall this autumn.
Receiving one of these packages can be a welcome break in a military member’s day, and they also show that the folks back home care. Including a handwritten note in each one can make them even more meaningful, and Stationery printers can prepare specially printed note cards to use for this purpose.
This opportunity to show some TLC to Nevada troops far from home will be collecting supplies on November 7. They can be dropped off at Galleria at Sunset any time between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm.
