The Art Festival of Henderson is set to take place for two days this May. It is presented by the Department of Cultural Arts and Tourism.
The festival will feature more than 100 booths from artisans, crafters and home decoration designers. They will be selling items such as paintings, photographs, clothing, and ceramics, many which may be appropriate to give as Mother's Day gifts.
There will also be a chalk art competition for students (17 and under) and adults (18+); there is a $200 cash prize for 1st place and $150 for second in each category. Artists can choose between three sizes of drawing spaces, ranging from 9 to 64 sq. ft.
The Kids' Corner will host the Imagination Station, at which there will be art activities, chalk art, and demonstrations. Food Truck Boulevard will feature a variety of tasty treats and musical entertainment will be provided during the event by groups such as the Sammy Steele Band, Brumby, and Stuck in Reserve.
Organizers may invest in services like banner printing to draw attention to the various areas during the festival.
The Art Festival of Henderson is taking place from May 9 to 10 at the Henderson Events Plaza and the Henderson Convention Center. Admission is free. To get more information about this event or the chalk art contest, contact Annette Mullins at 702-267-2171.
