Each year, many species of birds fly hundreds and even thousands of miles as they return to their northern nesting grounds, and Henderson will be joining many other communities around the world in celebrating this homecoming.
The community’s Bird Viewing Preserve, which is located at 350 Gelleria Drive, will be hosting an assortment of activities in recognizing International Migratory Bird Day. Guests will have a chance to learn more about the different avian species that utilize the preserve as a stopover during their flight, and the free event will be family friendly.
Those who come out will be able to take part in a guided tour of the site, and they can also try their hand at the interactive migration game that will allow them to experience what it is like to be one of these feathered long distance travelers. The Bird Mobile will be on hand and giving complimentary tours, and the occasion has been planned to be both fun and educational. Banners, Brochures and other items for this type of event can be provided by Print shops in the local area.
This special day, which has been dubbed “Migration Madness” will be held on May 12, starting at 10:00 am. Anyone who would like to find out more has been invited to visit the City of Henderson’s website for more details.
