Henderson's older adults will be taking over the dance floor when they attend an evening that will be filled with active fun just for them.
The Heritage Park Senior Facility will be rolling out the red carpet for its Sweethearts Sock Hop, for which advanced registration is requested. It will take place during the evening hours, and light refreshments will be served to the crowd.
Everyone there is asked to help create an atmosphere that takes a step back in time to the ‘50s and ‘60s by going to the back of their closet and digging out their favorite period duds. Live entertainment as well as dance contests are on the agenda, and the tunes will be ones the guests may fondly remember from their salad days. The evening is intended for those who are age 50 and up, and tickets start at $8 each.
Building the buzz about a particular activity is one of the tasks often undertaken by event organizers. A poster printing company will be happy to help with this, and can also perform graphic design work and other duties for its clients.
Local seniors can look forward to this evening of fun on Thursday, February 9. It will begin at 5:00 pm at 300 South Racetrack Road. Its registration system will close seven days ahead of its scheduled date.
