Henderson on a health drive

Many people across the world make it their New Year’s resolution to lose weight and get in shape. To support them, the city of Henderson is putting together the Healthy Henderson Fair. The event provides a comprehensive approach to health with a bit of entertainment too.

The fair is meant as a kickoff to the Lighten Up Henderson 90 Day Weight Loss Challenge - a citywide competition that will award prizes to the top person in each of three age categories with the highest percentage of weight loss. Enrollment in the weight loss challenge costs $65 a person and includes a three-month membership to the fitness room. Visitors to the health fair can enroll for the competition on the spot.

The event will feature more than 40 health and wellness vendors offering Promotional Products, food samples, and more. For younger visitors, bounce houses and activities will also be available. To help guests improve their exercise routines, demo classes and workouts will be given. Additionally, the farmers’ market will be set up and a healthy food truck will be at the fair, offering guests some dietary choices for the New Year.

The Healthy Henderson Fair will be next Saturday, January 14, starting at 10:00 am at the Henderson Multigenerational Center, located at 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy. The 90 Day Weight Loss Challenge starts on January 17. Admission is free to the public. Anyone interested in more info should contact the city directly.
