After a long winter, Henderson will mark the arrival of summer with an event that offers fun for the whole family.
The inaugural Henderson Pride festival is right around the corner, and has been made possible through the efforts of the International Cultural Movement for Equity. There are a variety of events scheduled throughout the weekend, and the function will be focused on creating a community where everyone feels welcome.
The fun will kick off on Friday night with a welcome party and pageant, while the Saturday will be filled with music, food, entertainment and a selection of local vendors. Health and wellness screenings will be offered, and a Pride Brunch is in the works as well. On Sunday, a drag brunch will take place, and the organizers pointed out that Covid prevention measures will be followed throughout the event.
The planners of this community celebration noted that any local businesses wishing to get involved will be able to serve as sponsors for the festivities.
