Henderson holds Field of Honor ceremony

The Field of Honor program recognizes those who lost their lives serving their country, and Henderson will be joining communities large and small across the country taking part in this annual tradition.

The ceremony, which is scheduled for late May, will see a special display set up at Cornerstone Park. It is intended to be a tangible demonstration of how the community honours both veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the public is encouraged to participate.

During the Memorial Day weekend, over 500 flags will be installed at the Park, and they will remain in place for four days as a symbol of pride, reverence, and patriotism. The Memorial Day ceremony itself will be free to attend. The organizers explained that support for the initiative has been provided by the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Veterans Action Foundation's Nevada Chapter, which has a motto of “No Veteran Left Behind.”

The host for this special event has expressed gratitude for the assistance of the local business community. Programs and other custom printed materials for a special occasion can be prepared by area stationery printers.

The Flags of Honor ceremony will be held at 9:00 am on Monday, May 26, and the flags will be on display starting on the Friday before. Anyone who wants more details about the gathering or the program itself can find them on the City of Henderson website.
