Henderson hikers invited to ring in 2020 from McCullough Hills Trail

While others will be ringing in 2020 with a party, Henderson residents have an option that’s really outside the box. It will see them greet the new year from the McCullough Hills Trail, and anyone who is at least five years of age in invited to join in.

The hikers who choose this relatively low-key event will gather together before hitting the trail, which will take them to a viewpoint from which they will be able to see almost the entire valley. While the younger set are welcome, they will need to have a parent or guardian with them, and the hikers have also been asked to leave pets at home for this activity.

The group will set out together, offering a chance for participants to meet others who call the community home. They will be able to get a full-on view of the fireworks show that has been planned for the area, and then it will be time to head for home.

The group will depart from the Anthem East Trailhead, and they are asked to arrive by no later than 11:00 pm. A banner printing company can prepare a reusable pop-up banner than can be displayed so that registrants in this sort of activity will know exactly where they are supposed to meet before setting out, and it can then be stored and used again for another occasion.

This alternative to the typical high energy New Year’s Eve revelry will be held on December 31. The registration fee is $14 each.
