The city of Henderson is getting everything ready for its annual WinterFest celebration. The three-day event combines music, activities, parades, and more in a celebration of the holiday season.
The festivities open on a Thursday with a special performance by the Henderson Symphony Orchestra. They will be performing a mix of standard Christmas carols, classical music, and other holiday favorites.
The main part of the festival begins the next day, where a variety of activities await. Things kick off with the traditional tree lighting, presided over by Santa Claus. Children can buy a wristband for $5 that will gain them unlimited access to pony, Ferris wheel, and carousel rides. Arts and crafts vendors will sell a variety of crafts and gift ideas and even handmade Holiday Cards.
The last day of the festival will repeat the rides and shopping, but will also have live entertainment, strolling carolers, and an evening light parade. A gingerbread house display will also be created for this day of the event. Santa will be available on both days for photos.
WinterFest will be held on December 8, 9, and 10 at the Henderson Events Plaza and the Henderson Convention Center, both located at 200 Water St. Cost for the event is free, though there are extra charges for rides, crafts, and food. Anyone interested in more info should visit the website.
