The arrival of winter will soon be celebrated in Henderson, and one of the ways the area will greet the season will be with a Winter Solstice party to be held at The Bird Viewing preserve.
Both adults and kids alike can enjoy the fun on offer during the morning festivities. Many of the activities will be hands on, and refreshments will be served.
The families at the celebration will be invited to take a stroll around the ponds, watching for wildlife as they go. They will also craft birdfeeders and other projects, and the beeswax candles and lanterns they will be making can add some extra light to a winter’s night. Admission is $10 for an event geared towards kids ages five and up.
This type of gathering offers a fun way to help kids develop an appreciation for the natural world, and as the whole family can take part, the organizers hope it will be an event the participants will fondly remember. A printer can prepare small, inexpensive Promotional Products to give to each person who attends a celebration like this.
The Bird Viewing Preserve, which is located at 350 East Galleria Drive, will be welcoming one and all for this salute to the arrival of winter on December 19. It is scheduled to start at 10:00 am.
