Henderson families swim in space

The City of Henderson is once again holding its Cosmic Swimming event. The evening swim brings together ethereal lighting effects and glowing gear for a unique aquatic experience.

The two-hour swim takes place under black lights to resemble an underwater version of cosmic bowling. Additionally, the water will be lit from underneath with a kaleidoscope of different colors that will change periodically throughout the evening. This will create a luminescent pool that will render items and people eerie and alien-looking as they float in the water, but more is planned for the event than just an extra-terrestrial atmosphere.

Music will play for the duration of the swim, and several games will also be offered. The activities planned include a number of toys and floats, along with activities like ring tosses, crazy cosmic swimming races, and dives for glowing gear. Due to the nature of the event, children under the age of eight must be within arm’s reach of an adult at all times.

Cosmic Swimming will take place on Friday, March 18 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Henderson Multigenerational Center located at 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy. Tickets are $5 each and should be purchased in advance, as space is limited. Anyone interested can contact the city for Brochures or visit the website to find out more.
