Henderson event to make splash for local autism families

A day of sensory-friendly fun is on the horizon for Henderson autistic kids and their neurotypical siblings, and everyone who plans on being part of the festivities should expect to get wet.

Families for Effective Autism Treatment (FEAT) has planned an event that will be a combination of a back-to-school party and a support and resource fair, and the water slide will be open. Lifeguards will be on site, and lifejackets will be available for any family that wishes to have their child wear one in the pool.

Along with a chance to cool off in the water, the function will boast a vendor and resource fair. The participating companies and groups will introduce the attendees to the range of supports available in the area, and snacks will be on offer as well.

Any businesses, professionals or organizations interested in being a part of the fun can register to do so now, and the booking fee is $50. This includes the use of a table, cloth, and chairs. They are asked to have plenty of Business Cards at the ready, as well as Promotional Products or other small token gifts to distribute to the crowd.

FEAT of Southern Nevada will be hosting this miss summer festival on August 6. The Henderson Multi-Gen Outdoor Activity Pool has provided space for the festivities.
