Henderson celebrates St. Patrick's Day with a festival

The St. Patrick's Day Festival is taking place in Henderson for three days next month, hosted by the Southern Nevada Sons and Daughters of Erin.

There are many activities planned for the festival, including a carnival, a car show presented by the Hustlers Car Club, and a coloring contest for children between the ages of 4 and 10. Brave volunteers will shave their heads in aid of the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which provides funds for research into cancer.

Guests can also amuse themselves with plenty of Irish music, dancing, and food for purchase. Vendors will be on hand to sell a range merchandise, while community organizations will be providing information on their programs and services.

The main event of the festival is the parade. This year's theme is ‘Love, Loyalty, Friendship’. Participating floats will be judged on various categories including best of theme and greenest; there is a $50 fee to take part in the parade.

Sponsorships are also available for $100 up to $1,000. Sponsors will have the chance to place printed Flyers and Brochures on table tops. No doubt most of these will be provided by Henderson Print companies.

The St. Patrick's Day Festival will take place at the Henderson Events Plaza from March 13 to 15. The parade will be held on March 14 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Call 707-267-2171 to learn more.
