Print Companies in Henderson

Henderson grew up during the 1940s, as the site of what was called the Basic Magnesium Plant. During the Second World War, magnesium was known as a ‘miracle metal’ and the Basic plant in Henderson was a large supplier of the substance to the U.S. War Department.

Magnesium was used in aircraft engines, airframes, and other parts. About 25 per cent of all the magnesium produced in the United States during the war came from the plant in Henderson, and it took one quarter of all the power produced by Hoover Dam to separate magnesium from its ore using the process of electrolysis.

By 1947 though, magnesium was no longer in demand, and most of the plant's 14,000 employees left, decreasing the school system's enrolment by two-thirds and leaving more than half the houses built for plant employees vacant. That year, the U.S. War Asset Administration put Henderson up for sale, labeling it a war surplus property. However, the Nevada Legislator passed a bill that gave the Colorado River Commission of Nevada the right to buy the industrial plants, and Henderson avoided war surplus status. The community was incorporated as a city in 1953.

There is an active Historical Society in Henderson, which could work with a postcard printing company to develop Postcards of the magnesium plant to sell to visitors.

Disaster brings change

Gibson Springs, a Henderson neighborhood, was home to the PEPCON rocket fuel plant. In 1988, the factory caught fire and was destroyed by a massive explosion, which was subsequently followed by six smaller blasts. The explosions damaged buildings and shattered glass in Las Vegas, as well as causing earthquakes, some of which measured 3.0 on the Richter scale. When the community recovered from the disaster, it turned from its industrial history and became largely commercial and residential, as it is now. Office buildings occupy the PEPCON site today.

When new offices open, they might consider working with Stationery printers to create a letterhead reflecting their new location.

Henderson includes a number of beautiful master-planned residential communities, such as Anthem, Green Valley, and Madeira Canyon. Developers of these areas might want to work with brochure printers to develop Booklets that realtors could give to their clients who are searching for homes.

There are a great many opportunities for fun in Henderson. The city has become known for its shopping malls, casino resorts, restaurants and movie theaters, which provide residents and visitors alike with many choices. Retailers in the malls might like to work with banner printing companies to create colorful Banners to place above their doors, marking special occasions such as sales or new items in stock.

Henderson is also home to an unusual facility called the Henderson Multigenerational Center and Aquatic Complex. The center features pools, a dance room and adult lounge, and a fitness center, among many other amenities spread over more than 84,120 square feet.

Center management could work with flyer printing companies to create handouts for distribution when special events are held at the site.
