A Henderson area workshop will show how easy it can be to maintain a garden, even with only limited space available.
The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension offers the public an assortment of learning opportunities throughout the year, and it has created a class that will be focused on small space gardening. The use of native plants will be emphasized, and tickets are $10 each.
The learners in the function will be introduced to the options available to them when it comes to plants that can withstand the area's dry climate and soil. Xeriscaping, which means gardening with a minimal use of water, will be introduced, and everyone will go home with a wealth of knowledge about the native plants that offer color and other interest throughout the year. ML Robinson will be the facilitator for the lecture, and it will run for four hours.
Gardening can be a fun hobby, but it is not always an economical one. Offering horticultural workshops can help to change that by teaching the attendees how to be more thrifty when it comes to landscaping, and materials for these events will be on offer at area brochure printing companies.
This chance for Henderson's budding green thumbs to add to their knowledge is scheduled for Saturday, September 10. The venue can be found at 8050 Paradise Road in Las Vegas.
