State fair returns to New Jersey

The New Jersey State Fair is returning to the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, close enough to Fair Lawn that residents will not want to miss it.

The festivities will kick off with ‘Cousin Brucie’s Palisades Park Reunion IV’. Artists who performed in the 1960s at the Palisades Amusement Park will be featured, including the Fireflies, Bobby Rydell, the Passions, and the Hearts-Jaynettes.

Many other performances and entertainment are scheduled during the fair. Olympic drivers will show off their skills by diving from an 85-foot platform into a pool just of 10 feet. The racing pigs will compete in a real piggy racetrack, and master hypnotists Steve Bayner will entertain on the Main Stage daily.

There will also be more than 50 rides and the largest Kiddieland in New Jersey. The Sky Ride returns with sky-high views of the fair and the skyline of New York City, while Batman will offer rides in the original Batcopter from the television series in 1966.

More than 50 food vendors will also be on hand with snacks, sweets, and meals. This will be an opportunity for them to use a local Print company to Print Menus so attendees can learn more about their cuisine.

The Fair opens on June 23 and runs until July 10, opening at 6:00 pm on weekdays and 2:00 pm on weekends and July 4.
