The Garden State Plaza, a retail shopping center in Paramus, will be transformed into a mixed-use complex. Such new developments and their amenities may be of interest to those in nearby Fair Lawn.
It will have a town green for residents, shoppers, and visitors and 550 luxury apartments. There will also be an outdoor shopping district with a “main street” atmosphere that will have everyday conveniences and services and restaurants.
The developers of the property are Mill Creek Residential and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW). This partnership will enable them to begin the first phase of the mixed-use vision of URW of the 30 acre property that will feature green spaces, residences, and the restoration of a section of the local Sprout Brook. There will be additional sustainability and community features in the new development that will include green spaces, new parks, upgraded connectivity to public transportation networks, green building construction, and charging stations for electric vehicles. Flyer printing is often used to promote such new developments and their special amenities.
Executive vice president for United States development, design, and operating management, at URW, Geoff Mason, said the company’s vision is to transform the shopping center into a town center for the local community where they can live, work, shop, and play.
It is expected that work on the project will begin in 2024 and the residences will be available for occupancy in 2026.
