Sandvik opens new headquarters in Fair Lawn
Sandvik, Inc., the United States-based unit of Sandvik AB, a materials engineering and manufacturing company, recently held grand opening ceremonies for its new headquarters in Fair Lawn.
The $20m facility, featuring 100,000 square feet of space, contains extensive meeting facilities, modern office space, and a productivity center, as well as an aerospace application center for process development, engineering, and customer training. Most likely, the company has been turning to a variety of printing services to inform people in the community of the new building and express its continued dedication to Fair Lawn.
Congressman Scott Garrett was in attendance at the ceremonies and commended the company on its commitment to the local economy and the community since the 1950s, as well as its customer-centric approach to business and promise of innovation. The company was presented with a Certificate of Congressional Recognition and July 1, 2014 was recognized by Mayor John Cosgrove, who also made an appearance, as ‘Sandvik, Inc. Day’. Cosgrove added that Sandvik has a reputation for giving back to the community.
During the building process, more than three quarters of construction waste was recycled, reused, or repurposed so that it was diverted from landfills. In addition, the company donated much of the equipment and furnishings from its former building to schools, charities, fire departments and other organizations in the local community.
