Outdoor yoga classes to benefit Fair Lawn farm museum

Bloom Yoga and Garretson Forge & Farm in Fair Lawn will be teaming up to present monthly yoga classes, with proceeds of the classes going to Garretson Forge.

According to the owner of Bloom Yoga, Evelyn Brigandi, she was contacted by a volunteer at the farm, Elizabeth Scholl, about offering an outdoor yoga class once the weather warmed up under a chestnut tree overlooking the farm. Brigandi adds that the space is tranquil, and practicing yoga outdoors enables a person to connect with nature, the earth, and the environment.

The classes at the farm will last about one hour, as opposed to the hour and 15 minutes long classes in the studio, as they will be dependent on the available sunlight. Homemade organic herbal iced tea, made with farm grown herbs, will be offered at the end of the classes.

About 10 years ago, Brigandi began practicing yoga to alleviate the severe pain she was suffering from her migraine headaches. Yoga and a clean diet helped to provide relief.

The classes will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening on July 14, August 11, September 8, and October 6. Beginners and all other levels are welcome. Bloom Yoga and Garretson Forge & Farm are most likely working together on promotional materials for these classes, with the help of various printing companies.
