Fair Lawn has announced a phaseout of its overnight parking system and the introduction of a new system for reserving overnight parking.
Fair Lawn bans parking on the street from 2:00 am to 5:00 am. Previously, those who wanted an exemption for one night to park in the downtown area needed to call the police. This procedure has been replaced by an online registration system that allows requests to be made 14 hours a day, seven days a week. The telephone line used for overnight parking is also being phased out.
Those looking to park in the downtown area overnight can now click on a link that brings them to a Temporary Parking Request Application allowing for parking overnight, and from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
The Police Department requires that all the information entered on the application be accurate regarding make, model, color, and year of vehicle, as well as the date entered. For overnight parking the date needs to be the next day, as vehicles will be parked after midnight.
Poster printing and banner printing can be used throughout a town to make residents aware of such new procedures.
The Fair Lawn Police Department was founded in 1930. Its mission is to provide high-quality service based on professional and ethical standards achieved through a commitment to serving the public.
