New non-profit to handle economic development in Fair Lawn
The Fair Lawn Economic Development Corporation is known as Fair Lawn Main Street, Inc. following a restructure.
This will be a non-profit organization that will enable the commercial and economic vitality of Fair Lawn to grow and strengthen. The two special improvement districts in the borough will be managed by this new non-profit.

A special improvement district is an area designated by a municipality as a region in which a special assessment is imposed on property to promote the general and economic welfare of the municipality.
Main Streetm Inc. will have nine members on the board of directors and representatives from Broadway Special Improvement District and the River Road Improvement District. Isaac D. Kremer of Civitas Development will remain as an advisor to the group, with councilmember Gail Rottenstrich lauding him as among the most knowledgeable people in the country on the development of commercial districts. This will be the third year of his contract.
Rottenstrich said that this new organization will enable more volunteers and resources to be made available to the two special improvement districts. She added that it will be better able to address the goals, needs, and objectives of the borough.
