New mayor and member of council selected in Fair Lawn

A new member has been added to the Fair Lawn Town Council in addition to the new mayor, Gail Rottenstrich.

Nathalie Salinas has now filled a vacancy on the council that occurred in February, when former Mayor Kurt Peluso stepped down to become manager of the borough.

Rottenstrich was selected as mayor, and Salinas was appointed to fill the vacant seat for the rest of this year. Announcements of such changes in government can be made known throughout a community with poster printing.

Salinas will be working on the Community Garden and Community relations Advisory Committees.

Salinas is the daughter of parents from Ecuador and is a resident of Fair Lawn. She has over 20 years of experience in production and marketing at a major international music company.

Among her achievements is leading an intern program, in which she mentored and recruited candidates. She has also developed partnerships with organizations that include Musicians on Call, The Ryan Seacrest Foundation, and Make-A-Wish.

Salinas also established a first-of-its-kind network of caregivers and parents, which has provided much needed support throughout the community. Currently, Salinas uses her expertise in production and project management in the video, photography, and experiential industries.

Salinas attended Montclair State University where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and holds a certificate from eCornell University in Diversity and Inclusion and Conflict Resolution.

Her term will expire at the end of 2024.
