New autism center to open near Fair Lawn

A new treatment center in Paramus, close enough for those in Fair Lawn to be able to take advantage of it, will be opened by the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD).

This office is the first one for CARD in New Jersey and the third in the metropolitan area of New York, with one center in Larchmont and the other in Manhattan. It uses applied behavior analysis to provide treatment to people of all ages diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. It offers its diagnostic and assessment services at its centers, as well as at homes and schools, and creates treatment plans individualized for each patient.

According to the Regional Manager, Deidra King, the local autism community has already warmly welcomed the center, which is looking forward to working with those with special needs and increasing accessibility to treatment for autism for those in the state.

The CARD model of treatment was developed by Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh, PhD, BCBA-D, who founded the organization in 1990 and is its executive director. It has been able to help many individuals who have autism, as well as their families, and enable them to access the support and services they need.

The Center may want to consider having flyer printing done to promote its services and increase awareness in the local community.
