Hospital in Fair Lawn area receives accreditation for nursing program

The Nurse Residency Program of Englewood Hospital has been accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP). Residents of nearby Fair Lawn who are looking to become nurses might be interested in this program.

The PTAP of the ANCC sets the global standard for residency programs that move registered nurses into settings where they can practice. Englewood is one of 21 hospitals in the state with this accreditation.

Englewood Health has a Nurse Residency Program that lasts 12 months and offers residents the chance to work in a collaborative learning environment with staff who are experienced in a real-world setting. Among the skills which new nurses develop are leadership, clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and inter-professional communication skills, so they can be prepared to provide evidence-based, high-quality family- and patient-centered care. Such programs often turn to brochure printing to offer more details on their programs and their benefits.

Chief nursing officer and senior vice president of patient care services at Englewood Health, Kathleen Kaminsky, MS, RN, NE-BC, said that the Nurse Residency Program is committed to helping transition nurses who are novices into clinical practice with confidence. Kaminsky added that this accreditation demonstrates the commitment of the hospital to supporting and educating the professional and clinical development of new nurses as they become professional healthcare caregivers.
