Health and wellness events come to Fair Lawn

Throughout the month of November, ShopRite of Fair Lawn will be hosting a complete set of programs on health and wellness.

The in-store registered dietitian, Dana Gaule, R.D., will be leading the offerings and will provide nutrition and wellness advice designed to be easy to implement.

Monday, November 17, is the day for the produce pick of the dietitian, which will be part of a new dish she has created.

On Wednesday, November 19, there will be free screenings of cholesterol and blood pressure by the Health Mobile Screening van from CarePoint. There will also be nutritional counseling provided by the dietitian at ShopRite.

November 21 is High Fiber Friday; an afternoon of being able to talk with the dietitian about meeting personal requirements for fiber and goals regarding weight loss, so that eating can be both fun and flavorful.

Sunday, November 23 is LiveRight with ShopRite Kids’ Day for children aged six years and older. Kids will be able to create and experiment with new foods and learn how to prepare a healthy and simple snack.

Lastly, on Tuesday, November 25, the dietician will be offering a sample healthy Thanksgiving dinner with recipes to lighten up the classic dishes.

With so many programs that are free and open to the residents of Fair Lawn, ShopRite could use flyer printing to generate enthusiasm for the various activities.
