A special night for Makayla Visbal, a seven-year-old girl with multiple birth defects, will be hosted by the mayor of Fair Lawn in collaboration with a group of entrepreneurs in the borough.
“A Night for Makayla” will be held by the group of United Real Estate of North Jersey’s Agents Benefitting Charities 501c(3) and Fair Lawn PBA Local 67, which will be working with Mayor John Cosgrove of Fair Lawn.
Makayla needs a mobility van that is wheelchair accessible at a cost of $60,000. Over one third of that amount has already been collected through a GoFundMe account and the collaboration may be working with a local Print company to create Flyers and mailers that can be distributed throughout the district to raise awareness about Makayla so as to generate additional funds.
According to the President of the Fair Lawn PBA, Luis Vasquez, Makayla is one of four children, so it is a big family and they need the help of the community.
At the event, a trick tray will be used to raise the requisite funds. In addition, individuals and businesses can become sponsors of the evening, with sponsorships ranging from $500 to $10,000. Tickets for the event are $50 per person.
The event will be held on November from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at The Brownstone, in Patterson.
